Jacob Kushner talks freelance

Jacob is a freelance journalist from the United States who works in Haiti and the Dominican Republic, hence his website -www.twonations.com

He talked to our new group of students this morning about his workmethodes and how the big newsorganisations (he works a lot for Associated Press), magazines (like Newsweek) and newspapers work.

Jacob's told them also how tough the bizniz can be - for instance he did not sell anything in the last past 6 weeks. So he now tries to get other magazines interested in his work. A lot of the work of a freelancer is acquisition.

Jean Wilner works on

You can not really tell from this picture, but I tell you our 'jack of all trades' Jean is at it again.

The new house is so much bigger and better with much more rooms - we need tables for all.

You can never use the camera too much in the beginning. It'a all in doing it yourselve.

So that's what we did this morning on our little balcony.

Camera education

Cinema theatre

We even have our own Cinema Club in the school now. Today we showed
the first part of Three Rooms of Melancholy. An IDFA classic.

Nice to see snow on a screen with outside temperature of 35 celsius.

Improved working conditions

John and Rama are also finishing their projects.

New teacher Andrew Mudd

Andrew is helping Judith with her final project. We have more rooms in
the new house, so we can work with different students on different
issues.

The Queste continous

Finding the best students who will benefit the most is yet again of
paramount importance.

Besides fixing the house it took most of our time for the past couple
of weeks

And then there was internet

We were a bit out of contact because of the transfer to the new house
and the lack of electricity and internet.

But as of today your daily soup will be served again!
