Reseau Haiti Reporters

Our recently garduated students are forming an association and cooperation They decided to use the French word for platform (reseau).

The new students will join this formal body and they will work together in it. The first joined meeting was just held downstairs

The idea for the association is that they can help eachother when they have projects. Possibly even buy equipment together that they can share.

If you want to give away your old Mac or camera - let me know on haitireporters@gmail.com.

Mickey's Palace

Everybody in Haiti knows the new president not only by his stage name as the popular 'kompa' singer Sweet Mickey, but even more by his other nickname:
Tet Kale - Bald Head.

The banner on the photo reads:

Viktwa. Guess what that means?!? Say it out loud and think french. Tet Kale is also on it ...

Today was the inauguration of Prezidan Martelly.

Haiti Reporters went downtown Port au Prince to ask the people that elected him, what they hoped and expected Martelly would do for them now.

On this photo you can see the collapsed presidential palace on the background.

Right in front of it on the lawn, Martelly was inaugurated.

Reviewing the material

After the first shoot with 5 teams we reviewed their material in the classroom. They did a 'log and transfer' to the computer and had to choose 2 to 3 minutes that would show their story. An opening shot, an endshot, a bit of interview and some shots around that all to show what A Day in the Life of ... looks like. We all were well impressed.

Monday they will continue with it, since today is a national holiday - the inauguration of Prezidan Micky!
